It was December 21, 2017 and it would turn out to be no ordinary day. That morning when our two year old Sweet Ella woke up, she was accompanied by a swollen right knee. As parents this was very concerning, but we had no idea, of the Health Journey we were about to begin. Ella's symptoms escalated from a swollen knee, to swollen joints, to severe stiffness, and multiple health concerns. So, we did what we thought was best, take her to the Doctor. But Doctor after Doctor, Specialist after Specialist, and Hospital after Hospital nobody could tell us what was going on, why it was happening, or how to effectively treat her condition. Almost all hope was gone... But like any parent would , we kept searching for answers and that is when we learned about Naturopathic Medicine. Desperate for answers and having nothing to lose, we decided to consult a Naturopathic Doctor. After reviewing Ella's medical records and being brought up to speed, the Doctors diagnosis was shocking... Food! Yes, food! He instructed us to use food as medicine and life as we knew it would never be the same. After countless hours of research it became very clear that food was the key to healing her body. So, we gave it a go and quickly realized how hard it was, to not only make food that is good for you, but tastes good too! We prayed for guidance and learned a lot of ways to not do things. But through our challenges things started coming together. We began creating meals that even the worst critics were coming back for more! But what meal isn't complete without dessert? That is when we took everything we had learned and translated it to desserts and the desserts were an even BIGGER hit! Things were really coming together, especially with Ella's health, she had made massive amounts of progress. It enabled us to start living some what of a normal life again... Until we tried eating at a restaurant. Gluten Free was extremely limited and organic non gmo was completely out of the question. We soon found bakeries to be the same way. That is when this little voice spoke up " we need to change this, we need to help other people like me" and on that day Sweet Ella's was born. She has been the motivation to provide the highest quality desserts and to serve those with special dietary needs. We sincerely hope you enjoy our special desserts as much as our Sweet Ella, Friends, and Families have.
